The purpose of the Innovation Challenge is to empower most disadvantaged young people to identify challenges in their communities and create entrepreneurial solutions to address them.
This Innovation Challenge is designed using a globally tested UPSHIFT approach which is anchored in human-centred design, putting young people at the centre of the process. This process will engage young people as co-creators of solutions, rather than just as beneficiaries.
In this challenge, the children will be trained through an Interactive platform containing 4 levels of UPSHIFT approach- Understand, Design, Build & Test, Making it Real. The Interactive platform consists of 20 Instructional Videos and 12 Interactive assessments, followed by the submission of an Innovative Idea for ‘Telangana School Innovation Challenge 2020’. Once they complete the course and submit an idea, they will receive a Certificate of Completion on DESIGN THINKING FOR INNOVATION.

Online Learning modules were very helpful to children to work on their ideas, infact children were very engaged in watching videos and participating in the course. The program also developed Teamwork in students and enabled them to express their ideas without any hesitation and could improve their thought process.
Strategic Planning of the program was really impressive and helpful to the students. Making Children think & Identifying a problem to address it was planned so well step by step.This made SIC stand unique compared with other events.
Through this innovation Challenge we could improve our Design Thinking Skills. we learnt the way we should think and work while Identifying a problem , Finding the root cause of it and Developing Innovative solutions for it and could apply it in our daily life.
